Camp at Delphi:  this was the view from our camp looking out across the broad valley covered with olive groves; The view swept round from the sea up to the heights of Mt Giona. But there was little time to pause and relax, with trying to keep up with daily log- writing

Temple of Apollo, Delphi:  here you can see the Delphic Sanctuary perched on the steep-sided Mt Parnassos. The Sacred Way winds up from the olive- covered lower slopes, and above the temple is the theatre and stadium, venue of the Panhellenic Pythian Games

The Tholos, Delphi:  while the main site at Delphi, seen in the background higher up, swarms with coach loads of tourists, the lower sanctuary of Athena Pronoas is a little haven of quiet. The centrepiece is the partially restored circular temple, the Tholos

Meteora, Varlaam Monastery:  this is one of the rocky monoliths of Meteora which is topped by a monastery, built originally in the 14th century by monks seeking seclusion from the secular world. Ironically, the numbers of tourists today totally denies that very seclusion that the founding hermits were seeking.
