ALSACE-LORRAINE
August~October 2006

We were closer to home for our second trip of 2006, beginning with the WW1 battlefields of the Somme and Verdun. After a period of mixed fortunes in Reims and the Champagne region, we spent a happy couple of weeks enjoying the Alsace Wine Road. Gloomily dull and rainy weather marred our time in Lorraine, but glorious Autumn sunshine brightened our progression along the Mosel(le) Valley as far as the river's confluence with the Rhine at Koblenz.   To view each week's web pages, click on the respective navigation-link below:
