INTERACTIVE MAP (right):

To help fellow travellers, the map gives the location of all the campsites used by us in the Czech Republic during our late summer 2009 trip.

Each site links to the chart below which gives details:

  • campsite name, location, GPS co-ordinates
  • date of our stay
  • cost per night including any discounts
  • our comments
  • assessment-rating

Campsites are rated on a scale +5 (excellent) through to -5 (dreadful); we have tried to be as objective and consistent as possible, basing our assessment on standards specifically applicable to the Czech Republic, over the following criteria:

  • attitudes and levels of hospitality, welcome and helpfulness shown
  • location and setting
  • standard of facilities
  • price and value for money

Prices (quoted in Czech koruna - current exchange rate around 30Kč/Ł) and comments given  relate purely to the dates of our stay

Popular site with German caravaners with prices to match; pleasant location on banks of Danube and very convenient 2km from A3 motorway to Austria, BUT never before have we been greeted with such uncouth and insufferable rudeness on arrival; this site should be BOYCOTTED by all who pass this way, so that the owners learn the commercial cost of treating their customers in this way; such a pity since otherwise the site is fine -4
