Hand-weaving at Palóc village of Hollókő:  Hollókő village is promoted as a living centre of Palóc culture, a people of Slovak origins who have lived in northern Hungary for centuries and speak an ancient dialect of the Magyar language. Hand weaving is one of the crafts displayed by ladies in traditional dress

Dobó István ter at Eger:  the main central square of Eger is a lively place, surrounded by beautiful Art Nouveau and Neo-Classical buildings. The statue group recalls the siege of Eger in 1552, when a small force of Magyars under István Dobó resisted a huge army of Turks and halted the Ottoman advance into Europe
Stalagmite formations in Baradla Cave, Aggtelek:  the Baradla cave system in the Aggtelek National Karst Park stretches for 25 kms spanning the Hungarian/Slovak border. The calcite formations are on a hugely impressive scale Narrow gauge railway at Lillafüred: the Bükk Hills to the west of Miskolc are covered with beech and birch woods, so beautiful at this time of the year. The narrow gauge railway once served the early iron ore mines and forges in the area
